Type C and D visa for Education in Japan from Turkey

Required Documents:

  1. Completed Visa Application Form: Fill out the visa application form accurately. You can download it from the website of the Japanese Embassy or Consulate. Make sure all information matches your supporting documents.

  2. Valid Passport: Ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay in Japan. It should also have at least two blank pages for the visa and entry/exit stamps.

  3. Recent Passport-Size Photos (2): The photos should be recent (not older than six months) and meet the requirements for Japanese visa photos. Typically, the photo size should be 45 mm x 45 mm with a plain white background.

  4. Certificate of Eligibility (COE): This document is issued by the Japanese immigration authority and is essential for your visa application. The educational institution in Japan usually handles this and sends it to you once approved.

  5. Letter of Admission: Provide the official acceptance letter from the Japanese educational institution you will attend. This letter should include details about your course, study duration, and start date.

  6. Proof of Financial Means: Show evidence of sufficient funds to cover your living expenses in Japan. This can be through:

  • Bank Statements: Recent bank statements (usually from the last three to six months) showing a sufficient balance to fund your stay.

  • Scholarship Award Letter: If you have received a scholarship, include the award letter detailing the amount and duration of the scholarship.

  • Sponsor’s Declaration: If someone else is funding your stay, provide a letter from the sponsor declaring their support, along with their financial documents such as bank statements or salary slips.

  1. Health Insurance Coverage: Provide proof of health insurance that covers your stay in Japan. Initially, you can provide travel insurance, but once in Japan, you will need to enroll in the national health insurance system.

  2. Proof of Accommodation in Japan: Present evidence of where you will stay in Japan, such as a lease agreement, dormitory confirmation, or a letter from your educational institution confirming your accommodation arrangements.

  3. Previous Academic Records and Certificates: Include transcripts, diplomas, and other certificates from your previous education. These should be translated into English or Japanese if they are in another language.

  4. Visa Application Fee Receipt: Pay the visa application fee at the designated bank or directly at the embassy/consulate, and keep the receipt as proof of payment. The fee amount and payment method will be specified by the embassy/consulate.

Application Process:

  1. Schedule an Appointment: Visit the website of the Japanese Embassy or Consulate in Turkey to schedule an appointment for your visa application. Appointments are generally required, and you should book one well in advance of your intended travel date.

  2. Gather Necessary Documents: Collect all the documents listed above. Make sure they are complete, correctly filled out, and in the required format. Incomplete applications may result in delays or rejections.

  3. Attend the Appointment: On the scheduled date, go to the Japanese Embassy or Consulate with all your documents. Arrive on time, as late arrivals may not be accommodated.

  4. Submit Biometric Data: During your appointment, your biometric data (fingerprints and photo) will be taken. This is a standard procedure for visa applications.

  5. Interview (if necessary): You may be required to attend an interview as part of the visa process. Be prepared to answer questions about your study plans, financial situation, and ties to Turkey.

  6. Wait for Visa Processing: The processing time can vary but typically takes several weeks. During this period, you may be asked for additional documents or information. You can track the status of your application online or through the embassy/consulate’s communication channels.

  7. Receive Notification: Once your visa is approved, you will be notified by the embassy/consulate. They will inform you when and how you can collect your visa.

  8. Collect Your Visa: Visit the Embassy or Consulate to collect your visa. Make sure to check the visa details for accuracy, such as your name, visa type, validity dates, and any specific conditions.
